Digital Twins are three-dimensional (3D) virtual reconstructions of physical plants or objects created within a digital environment. They are generated from multi-angle image datasets using specialized photogrammetry and reconstruction software, resulting in accurate spatial representations of morphology and structure. When such reconstructions are produced repeatedly over time, capturing dynamic growth and developmental changes, the model extends beyond static 3D representation. In this case, the time resolved Digital Twin is referred to as a 4D plant, integrating temporal data as the fourth dimension to enable longitudinal analysis of plant architecture and performance.
