Seven years ago, a prototype was tested in a small lab of the Wageningen University & Research department of Plant Breeding. Clearly home made, but the platform scanned successfully a broccoli head. From there five more prototypes led to the 1st generation of BABETTE Pro. This generation is operational at the NPEC facility at Wageningen University & Research. The 2nd generation is currently operated at Bonn University in the Cluster of Excellence. A new design arose of the first generations. This BABETTE Pro 3rd Generation now has best of both generations and a larger scan area
